2023 Champions League final: Manchester City's first European crown
Manchester City won the UEFA Champions League for the first time on 10 June 2023, beating Inter Milan 1-0 at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul. Rodri scored the decisive goal in the 68th minute.
The treble
The victory completed a historic treble for City — the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League — in Pep Guardiola’s seventh season in charge.
A first for the club
Founded in 1880 (as St Mark’s), City had never before lifted Europe’s premier club trophy. The win also made Guardiola the first manager to win the treble in two different countries (Spain with Barcelona in 2009, England with City in 2023).
Inter’s resistance
Inter, managed by Simone Inzaghi, defended deeply and created few clear chances, but City’s control and Rodri’s strike proved decisive.
